HOSPITALITY CRISIS MANAGEMENT - Courses2
The Covid-19 crisis has demonstrated how critical crisis management planning is for any business, but even more so for the hospitality and tourism industry which was among the most affected. In countries relying heavily on tourism, such as Thailand, it was devastating. The new normal of business also brings the need to update crisis management planning with new factors and consideration.
That is the reason our crisis management planning courses are different from the traditional curricula; they are designed to address the potential crises of the new normal.
Even for establishments who had a crisis management plan, it was not much help as no real-world scenario would consider such an extreme situation. However, extreme unpredictable crises are addressed in academic theories, although considered too unlikely to occur to include them in real-world planning because the preparedness cost would be disproportionate to the likelihood of occurring over the life of a business in stable developed countries. Well, it did! And we now acknowledge that random can be now just as well as in infinity.
